Jimmy D. gathered his troops and captured Middletown's Buster's Bar over the weekend with amazing covers and a handful of originals from his debut Alpha Dawg effort "Break Even". The quartet was absolutely magical according to ADR Prez Robert Hoffman whom crashed the party at 12:30 with a small entourage including wife Elaine. "He's never played better in his entire life," Hoffman said of the amazing set and added that "Rogers was ready". The Alpha Dawg himself asked Jimmy D. to begin thinking about what he could potentially do with a great band behind him. Rogers, whom has had his share of bad band experiences, agreed to think about it and recently met with Hoffman to discuss his decision. "I want to put together a band and I've got a laundry list of players that would do it for me," Jimmy D announced during the meeting. A week after the announcement and meeting the Jimmy D. Rogers quartet (or whatever they're going to be called) was born and actually out clubbing. Hoffman said of the set, " If this is any indication of what the very near future holds for this group of regional allstars we're in for a great treat." Jimmy D. has been on a roll since recording "Break Even" including winning the 2008 Cincinnati Blues Challenge. Stay tuned for more exciting news from Camp Jimmy.
Sweet Jimmy D.
